Ringo Land
In 1971 Ringo Starr licensed his likeness to Tactic Playground Interactive to launch a chain of theme parks across North America. Only one park ever officially opened. Ringo Land is a 212-acre (86 ha) amusement park, in Arlington, Texas, east of Fort Worth and west of Dallas. The park changed hands 4 times, finally ending up under the ownership of Ringo himself. Ringo has been quoted saying "I didn't like how it was handled. I saw the opportunity, and I took it back".
Plans for another park were underway, in collaboration with Universal Studios Europe. The sub-park was only completed half-way and never opened.
