Robotics Software Generations
Generation a1 (1977-1980)
This first rudimentary implementation of robotics & software fell flat, and nothing worked as intended. This caused the company to cease development for a few years to focus more heavily on microcomputer software.
Generation b1 (Project WHISTLER) (1986-2006)
This next implementation of the generation 1 architecture proved to be more successful than the last. This was the longest running robotics generation due to the ease of maintenance and fantastic ability to perform some hot-swap hardware upgrades on the machines. Although, not every upgrade could be completed in a hot-swap fashion.
Project Whistler consisted of 3 robots, Sam Whistler, Mary Granfors, and Mike Granfors.
Generation 2 (2006-2012)
Generation 2 saw some performance improvements over generation 1, including sleeker and more futuristic designs.
