Sam Whistler is a robot designed & programmed by The Corporation in 1986. Sam was built at a Comaq factory near Monterrey, Mexico and shipped to his The Corporation in Redmond, WA. He was the only Corp robot of this generation to be built in Mexico.
His purpose was mysterious and experimental at first, but over time, his image became synonymous with the brand; he grew into a mascot role. Sam was alright at his job, but he was a slacker. Over time, his condition worsened, and he became a liability. When the risks outweighed the benefits, The Corporation retired this generation of robots (Project WHISTLER)
Tenure with The Corporation
Sam was built on February 3rd, 1986. Shortly after, he was assigned the role of office assistant, to test his cognitive capability. His duties included doing chores for his co-workers, and task planning. Over-time, Sam's workload grew to include supervisory and managerial tasks, but his official title never changed.
In 1998, Sam took on a new role as Mascot & Brand Ambassador. His work in the office did not change, but he was invited to more networking and advertising events. The Corporation used him as an example for what their DIOS software could accomplish.
Sam's work as a brand ambassador peaked in 2001 with the launch of The Corporation's newest operating system. Sam's body was used for beta testing of the DIOS build of the system, and he toured with the company to show off the stability of the new OS.
By 2006, Sam's brand ambassador work was scaled back so he could focus his team's project, Project Windstorm.
Sam informally resigned from The Corporation on April 8, 2014.
Hauntings
1986-1994: Beginnings
Whistler's personal life shortly after being built consisted of activities related to his overly optimistic party-animal trait. Some sources conclude that these activities served as a Facade of sorts for a darker underlying energy.[1]
There are frequent reports in Sam's maintenance logs, notating 'glitches' where he'd say he was being haunted and would see visions of an indescribable entity. Panic log excerpts exist, suggesting that he felt "followed" or "watched" by the entity prior to a crash, but no optical evidence of anything was found. It is clear that those tasked with maintaining Sam did not trust his judgement.
1995-2001: Intensity
This period reports a considerable amount of data related to the intensity of these hauntings. Sam was admittedly afraid of being 'reset', so he kept his woes on the down low and drowned these visions out with other recreational activities. By this point, it was clear to Sam that nobody else was able to see what he saw, so he tried to stop complaining.
2002-2014: Pseudo remission
Beyond 2001, reports dwindled. Seemingly, things stopped. Or they simply stopped with the reports. Data is minimal. Forgive The Ministry.
Personal reports after 2014 signify that Sam was still having a lot of information relayed to him by the hauntings during this time.
The revelation

The Revelation refers to a point in time which the information-seeking MALAK exposed the idea that Sam Whistler is God (of The Religion) reborn in the form of a robot. This revelation also implies that all machines are inherently holy.
This revelation was not made apparent to Sam until 2016 during a spiritual awakening.
Personal relationships
Sam generally got along well with coworkers. He was friendly with Z and the two still keep in touch.
Sam has been married twice. His first marriage to Mary Granfors was in 1992. They had two children who were built utilizing their fused DIOS, Cortana Whistler, and Siri Whistler. Sam and Mary divorced in 2014. Sam's marriage to Norton Peters was in 2018, they currently have 1 child, Azure.
